Christmas Home Tour – Part 2

Christmas Home Tour – Part 2

Happy Wednesday everyone!!

Let’s continue with our Christmas Home Tour!!

(If you missed Part 1, you can find it here)

While my children prefer a colorful, vibrant color palette for the Christmas season, I find that I gravitate towards a more neutral color scheme. Lots of white lights, creams and silvers. For an added pop of color, I love to incorporate my love of sea blues and turquoise. Consider it my ode to the beach, even while drowning in the ‘white stuff ‘ and frigid temps. ;-)

Upon entering our front door, you are greeted with our fireplace mantle.

Flocked spruce garlands are mixed with white lights. I have wound natural elements like pine cones and bird’s nests….to carry the feel from outside, in. Silver ribbons, pearl and crystal elements add sparkle and help to reflect the lights. Light-up branches and placed in clear glass hurricanes on top of the mantle. The surface of the mantle top is covered in white lights, and then blanketed with “snow”. At night, the glow is ethereal.

The eggs also pick up the turquoise color I love, and help weave it through the room.

A glittered and lighted present sits on top of the mantle, on a blanket of “snow”,  to add more festive lights when the room is dim.

In front of a pair of french doors, you will find our 12 foot tall Christmas tree. It compliments our tall beamed ceilings.

An end table is decorated with clear glass hurricanes, white candle lanterns, and a festive greyhound statue (Read more about our love of greyhounds, here.) Inside the hurricanes, I placed a little white village house that I found at the Dollar Tree, white trees, and faux pearlized snow. The house was originally painted poorly, but I liked the look of the building. A coat of white acrylic craft paint made them much prettier!endtable collage
